  • Clean equipment and work area regularly to ensure readiness and safety using a variety of equipment, including air hoses, shovels, rakes, saws, and other tools.
  • Operate mobile equipment to include a front-end loader, sweeper, and forklift.
  • Monitor system performance to meet targets.
  • Adhere to all plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures which includes but is not limited to wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). For safety reasons, you may be required to wear a face respirator. To ensure the proper fitting of safety equipment, minimal facial hair is mandatory.

The shift for this position is a Day Shift with the following schedule:

  • Sunday the hours are from 6:00am-11:00am
  • Monday - Friday the hours are from 6:00am-2:30pm

Utility Workers are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety in various production areas, operating equipment, and supporting overall plant operations.

Our Team

Our Georgia-Pacific facility in Fordyce, AR manufactures Oriented Strand Board (OSB), compressed strands of wood chips that are bound together by adhesives which prevent moisture intrusion. This type of OSB is used for floor, wall, and roof sheathing in residential and light commercial construction applications. What You Will Do

Employees may be assigned to various departments throughout the facility. Following is a list of physical and environmental demands for these departments:

  • Work in a hot, humid, dusty, and cold environment
  • Perform work in an outdoor environment, exposing one to the elements
  • Perform tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs., walking, stooping, standing, repetitively pushing and/or pulling up to 12 hours per day
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience operating industrial equipment
  • Experience working as part of a team
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience working in a wood processing facility
  • Experience using a computer, tablet, and/or smart phone
  • Experience using hand tools, including but not limited to wrenches, ratchets, hammers and/or screwdrivers
  • Forklift experience
