Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Utility Worker 2 to support loading/unloading of raw materials and maintain cleanliness of the plant and equipment. The role involves operating vehicles, handling materials, and performing general labor tasks while prioritizing safety and compliance with company rules.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience with industrial machinery, a high school diploma (preferred), and must be able to work nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with industrial/plant machinery; rendering equipment preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Wash parking lot and plant equipment with a high pressure hose.
• Paint and wash plant equipment and building fixtures as necessary.
• Use hand tools and power tools.
• Operate company vehicles around plant and property.
• Ensure steady flow of raw material from trailers to dock safely.
• Check and report condition of raw material load and truck interior.
• Perform general labor including janitorial cleaning and vehicle washing.
• Maintain safety as top priority per company rules.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Utility Worker 2 is responsible for loading and unloading of raw material/finished product as well as cleanliness of plant and equipment.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

• Uses high pressure hose to wash parking lot, plant equipment, and surrounding areas of plant including spilled material on lot.
• Paints and washes plant equipment and building fixtures as necessary.
• Required to use standard hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrenches, etc.) and power tools (drills, impact drivers, saws, etc.)
• Operates company vehicles around plant and property.
• Ensures steady flow of raw material from trailers to dock in safe, efficient manner.
• Checks and reports condition of raw material load and truck interior.
• Performs variety of general labor work including janitorial cleaning, vehicle washing.
• Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 2+ years of experience with industrial/plant machinery; rendering equipment preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• CDL “B” license with tanker endorsement is a plus.
• Able to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
