Job summary

Crown Laundry Svc is seeking a Part-time Utility Worker in Austell, GA, for 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm shifts. The role supports maintenance and production by performing janitorial tasks and basic maintenance under supervision, with flexibility for additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform all janitorial tasks as directed.
• Perform basic maintenance cleaning (wiping down, blowing out, lubricating).
• Maintain casters on carts/gondolas.
• Maintain warehouse stock levels for key items.
• Possibly perform basic preventative maintenance when trained.
• Notify supervisor if work not done as scheduled or issues arise.
• Inspect eye wash stations and safety items.
• Collaborate with all employees as maintenance supports production.
• Follow safe machine operation and safety procedures.
• Perform repair work as needed and efficiently.
• Back up production duties if required.
• Notify supervisor when supplies are low and replenish.
• Seek work when janitorial tasks are not readily available.
• Contribute ideas for improvements.
• Attend safety meetings.

POSITION SUMMARY The primary purpose of the Utility position is to provide help as directed with basic janitorial and light maintenance task as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager. Incumbent may be asked to help in other areas of the plant, including production and need to be extremely flexible as a routine part of their job.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1.Perform all janitorial tasks as directed.
• 2.Perform all basic maintenance cleaning (wiping down, blowing out, and lubricating) tasks as directed
• 3.Maintain casters on all carts/gondolas
• 4.Maintain new goods warehouse (communicate stock level on key items)
• 5.Possibly performance of basic preventative maintenance once trained and as directed.
• Advise supervisor if any work is not done as scheduled.
• Advise supervisor if any work reveals serious issues
• Inspect eye wash stations and other safety items
• 6.Work collaboratively with all employees, always remembering that the maintenance department services production.
• 7.Responsible for safe machine operation:
• Don't take shortcuts - always follow proper safety procedures when working on or around machinery.
• Follow all lock out/tag out procedures when directed.
• 8.Perform all repair work on demand in a careful and efficient manner.
• Seek counsel from supervisor when priorities are conflicting
• 9.May need to serve as back up for production jobs as needed.
• 10.Notify supervisor when maintenance or cleaning supplies are low so that they can be replenished on time.
• 11.Seek out work when janitorial work is not readily available, such as cleaning machinery or ensuring that the plant is clean and tidy.
• 12.Be creative about coming up with ideas for improvements.
• 13.Attend Safety Meetings as directed.
• 14.Any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
• 15.Must be flexible as far as starting and completion times

The following physical requirements are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position:

• Constant standing during working hours.
• Constant lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Constant reaching for individual items and stacks of items.
• Constant bending, stooping and twisting
• Constant grasping of items
• Constant feet movement or shifting weight, depending up on job
• Constant wrist motion
• Constant shoulder motion
• Frequent pushing of a cart that may weigh 200 pounds
