Job summary

Atlas Field Services in Detroit, MI is seeking a field vegetation technician who enjoys outdoor work and can operate in demanding conditions. You will assess vegetation around powerlines, collect data, and communicate with property owners, while coordinating with foresters as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma, experience in forestry/arboriculture or horticulture, and ISA arborist certification preferred. You must reside in the Detroit area and be able to travel to sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in Forestry, Arboriculture, or Horticulture.
• ISA Arborist Certification preferred; ISA Utility Specialist certification preferred.
• Must possess tree identification skills and the ability to read maps.

• Work alone in an outdoor field environment; extensive vehicle operation and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions.

Physical
