Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Climber to join our team serving the Greater Akron, Ohio region. The role involves climbing with DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS, pruning and removing trees for major electric utilities, and working onsite with a crew led by a foreperson. CDL preferred and licensing/certifications are valued.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Complete Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire.
• Complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA/Credentials in arboriculture or tree care safety.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems.
• Perform pruning and removal services for major electric utilities.
• Prune treetops and trim/remove damaged trees.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.).
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.
• Grow with opportunity based on performance.
