Job summary

City of Crestview in Florida seeks a Water Utility Worker to install and maintain water service equipment and respond to emergencies. The role involves after-hours on-call and some night/weekend work.

You will perform installations, troubleshoot leaks, operate a light-duty truck, and coordinate with the Water division under supervision. A high school diploma and a Florida license are required.

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of modern principles, practices, and techniques utilized for the installation and maintenance of various aspects of water/sewer utility systems.
• Demonstrate skill in the use of required tools and equipment
• Good knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade;
• Ability to carry out oral and written instructions; ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Possession of valid Florida license

Responsibilities

• One (1) year experience in performing moderate to heavy manual labor, preferably in the underground utility services area.
• Must possess a Level 3 FDEP water distribution operator’s license within eighteen (18) months of hire.

Physical Requirements

• Willingness to perform manual work and the ability to lift heavy objects.
• Possess the physical strength and agility to work outdoors under adverse weather conditions.

• Background Check: Must have an acceptable background record
• Driving Abstract: Must have an acceptable driving record
