Job summary

Encore Oilfield Services, LLC is seeking a skilled Utility Piping Technician to join our Millsap, Texas manufacturing team. The role focuses on fabricating, fitting, assembling, and installing utility piping for natural gas compression packages and related equipment.

The ideal candidate will read piping isometrics and P&IDs, have strong mechanical aptitude, and maintain high safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read piping isometrics and P&IDs.
• Familiarity with piping materials, fittings, valves, and fabrication methods.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, fit, assemble, and install piping per drawings and specs.
• Read isometrics, P&IDs, spool drawings, fabrication blueprints.
• Measure, cut, bevel, thread piping materials for fabrication and assembly.
• Install valves, fittings, flanges, pipe supports and other components.
• Perform pipe layout and verify measurements prior to fabrication.
• Assist with air testing of completed piping systems.
• Inspect piping work for fit, alignment and quality.
• Safely operate pipe fabrication equipment and tools.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and report issues to Shop Manager.
• Follow all safety policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Encore Oilfield Services, LLC is seeking a skilledUtility Piping Technician to join our manufacturing team inMillsap, Texas. This position is responsible for fabricating, fitting, assembling, and installing utility piping systems used on natural gas compression packages and related equipment.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with industrial piping or pipe fabrication, and the ability to read piping drawings and specifications. This role requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Fabricate, fit, assemble, and install utility piping according to drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, spool drawings, and fabrication blueprints.
• Measure, cut, bevel, thread, and prepare piping materials for fabrication and assembly.
• Install valves, fittings, flanges, pipe supports, and other piping components.
• Perform pipe layout and verify measurements and dimensions prior to fabrication.
• Assist with air testing of completed piping systems.
• Inspect completed piping work for proper fit, alignment, and overall quality.
• Safely operate pipe fabrication equipment, grinders, threading machines, band saws, hand tools, and other shop equipment.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and material-handling equipment as required.
• Work closely with welders, mechanics, and other shop personnel to complete piping assemblies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Identify and report quality concerns, material issues, or discrepancies to the Shop Manager.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret piping isometric drawings and P&IDs.
• Basic knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, and fabrication methods.
• Experience using common measuring and fabrication tools.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate overhead cranes and material-handling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding work.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred

• Previous experience in industrial piping, pipe fabrication, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Experience fabricating utility piping for natural gas compression equipment.
• Experience with threaded, flanged, and welded piping systems.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3 Process Piping standards.
• Previous experience in the oil & gas or industrial manufacturing industry.
• Forklift or overhead crane experience.

• Work in awkward positions or at elevated heights as required.
• Must be able to wear required PPE and safely perform all essential job functions.

This position is based in Encore'sMillsap, Texas manufacturing facility. Employees work in a fast-paced, production-driven industrial environment fabricating and assembling utility piping systems for natural gas compression packages and related equipment.
