Job summary

Sunsweet Growers Inc. in California is seeking an entry-level production associate to join our line operations. You will perform routine tasks on production lines, handle materials safely, and support overall line efficiency.

You will follow instructions, work in challenging conditions, and help maintain clean, safe work areas while complying with company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to work in adverse working conditions including wet or humid conditions, fumes or dust, tight or confined spaces, and high noise levels.

Responsibilities

• Fills, stacks, moves or handles materials weighing up to 50 pounds frequently or continuously.
• Maintains correct product and material availability to line operations.
• Loads and unloads product as necessary.
• Properly marks product or materials as directed.
• Collects and empties trash and litter.
• Performs routine general building maintenance including janitorial tasks, surface preparation, painting, and maintaining buildings.
• Performs light maintenance such as replacing bulbs, opening drain lines, checking power panels, and inspecting electrical outlets for damage.
• Performs office housekeeping duties as required; cleans windows, door frames and walls; cleans assigned areas.
• Notifies supervisor of substandard parts, tools, equipment, or conditions affecting production.
• May work overtime as required.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly using common cleaning equipment.
• Ensures safe working conditions and safe work practices in the assigned area.
• Performs other duties related to the overall effort as directed.

Job description

Under direction of a manager/supervisor or production line leader, performs various types of routine and unskilled tasks on production lines.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Fills, stacks, moves or handles materials weighing up to 50 pounds frequently or continuously. Must be able to use arms, hands or feet to grip, hold, push or manipulate various objects, fruit, controls, or equipment. Must repeatedly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and periodically lift and or manipulate with assistance 150 pounds.
• Maintains correct product and material availability to line operations.
• Loads and unloads product as necessary.
• Properly marks product or materials as directed.
• Collects and empties trash and litter.
• Performs routine general building maintenance work including Janitorial, surface preparation, painting and work involved in maintaining buildings.
• Performs various light maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, replacing light bulbs, opening drain lines, checking power panels (on/off only), and inspecting electrical outlets for damage.
• Perform the duties of office housekeeping when required; clean windows, door frames and walls; clean and service assigned areas.
• Notifies supervisor of substandard assembly defective parts, tools, equipment, and material or other conditions which inhibit or detract from production performance.
• Must be able to work overtime if required.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly using common cleaning equipment.
• Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions and safe work practices in assigned area.
• Performs other duties relating to the overall effort as directed.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate.
• Must be able to work in adverse working conditions to include but not necessarily limited to those environmental conditions to which the employee may be exposed while undertaking the essential duties and responsibilities of the position. In this position the employee is periodically exposed to wet or humid conditions; fumes or dust; tight or confined spaces; shaking and or vibrating equipment. The noise level requires the use of ear protection. The employee must be able to work in difficult ambient temperatures.
