Responsibilities include shoveling, sweeping, lifting, pushing and pulling various objects, raking, and operating equipment such as skid steers, backhoes, pavers, and rollers. The role also includes cross-functional duties in plant maintenance and equipment operation, with a strong emphasis on safety, adaptability, and teamwork.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uses standard operating procedures to troubleshoot malfunctions or issues.
  • Participates in plant operations, including production, loading, and shipping.
  • Under direct supervision, adjusts equipment to maximize production.
  • Provide on‑the‑job coaching to ensure team members develop proper techniques for shoveling, sweeping, cleanup, and equipment assistance.
  • Guide, train, and mentor Laborers in daily activities, equipment handling, and safety protocols.
  • Operate and assist with skid steers, backhoes, pavers, rollers, loaders, and water trucks as required.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on plant and mobile equipment: greasing, lubricating, replacing belts/bearings, splicing conveyors.
  • Perform pre‑ and post‑shift inspections; maintain accurate maintenance logs and report irregularities.
  • Ensure work areas, machinery, and roads are clean and safe using tools such as shovels and sweeps.
  • Provide operational support across departments: rail unloading, stockpile management, housekeeping, maintenance, quality control, and scale house operations.
  • Assist with additional tasks outside core responsibilities as needed.
  • In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined, the successful candidate may be expected to take on other tasks and assignments as required, including but not limited to duties outside the typical scope of the role to support overall team operations and organizational needs. Flexibility and adaptability to evolving job demands are essential.
