Job summary

Hubbard Feeds, Inc. in Kansas is seeking a plant operator to run batching, pelleting and packing equipment within established safety and quality guidelines. You will document processes per Quality and Food Safety procedures and support continuous improvement.

This 1st shift position covers 10‑hour days, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. You must be forklift certified, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and possess basic computer skills. A supportive team and growth opportunities await.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple processes within the facility with minimal supervision, rotating between areas as needed and collaborating with management to ensure quality, food safety, and customer service standards.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and production processes are optimized to maximize output.
  • Provide back up to other positions in the plant to cover for absences, vacations or heavy workload.
  • Attend safety huddles and safety meetings and participate in discussions to improve safety.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings regarding Quality and Food Safety, Lean manufacturing, customer service, annual training or other topics.
  • Maintain housekeeping of your work area and other portions of the plant as specified by policies and SOPs.
  • Notify Plant Manager/Supervisor of any product or process not meeting standards to reduce claims or rework.

Job Summary

This position is assigned to operate equipment within established guidelines for efficiency, safety, product quality, food safety and customer service. The equipment will include batching, pelleting and packing equipment and other equipment unique to a plant. The operator must be knowledgeable in batching, pelleting and packing procedures and properly document the process as required by Quality and Food Safety procedures. This is a 1 st shift position working 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities and Authority
  • Operate multiple processes within the facility with minimal supervision, rotating between areas as needed, while collaborating with management and team members to ensure quality, food safety, and customer service standards are met.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and production processes are optimized to maximize output.
  • Provide back up to other positions in the plant to cover for absences, vacations or heavy workload.
  • Required to be forklift certified.
  • Attend all safety huddles and safety meetings and actively participate in discussion and help identify ways to improve safety.
  • Attend and actively participate in other staff meetings regarding Quality and Food Safety, Lean manufacturing, customer service, annual training or other topics.
  • Ensure housekeeping of your work area and other assigned portions of the plant is completed as specified in AQS-FD policies and QFS SOPs.
  • Notify the Plant Manager, Superintendent or Supervisor of any product or process not meeting company standards to reduce the chance of product claims, required re-work or other things that reduce efficiency.
Qualifications and Physical Requirements
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Be able to routinely lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift
  • Must be able to perform the functions of the job while exposed to various weather and environmental conditions.
  • Be able to climb catwalks, stairs and ladders to check feed & ingredient bins
  • Must be able to perform basic math operations: add, subtract, multiply, divide
  • Must be able to comprehend, read, write and speak the English language
  • Must be physically active and mobile throughout the shift
