Job summary

ITW Medical is seeking a dedicated Utility Operator for night shift work in our medical device assembly environment. The role includes assembly line tasks, machine operation, and forklift duties. Team members must follow manufacturing instructions and maintain quality standards.

The position requires 1-3 years of experience, basic computer skills, and willingness to work in a climate-controlled facility. Night shifts run 7:00pm–7:00am with a rotating weekly schedule, and OSHA-compliant safety

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in manufacturing or similar environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend Operating Instructions and Manufacturing Specifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect manufactured parts for defects and escalate issues as needed.
• Record shift activities on forms (activity sheets, break sheets).
• Communicate with shift lead and QC inspectors.
• Replenish raw materials and report machine issues to technicians.
• Perform minor troubleshooting as required.
• Operate forklift and support assembly processes.

ITW Medical, a division of ITW, is comprised of two highly respected brands- Coeur and Filtertek, supplying critical filtration and flow control solutions to global OEM’s, serving Surgical, Infusion, Bioprocessing and Diagnostic Imaging end markets.

This role is a floater position: assembly line worker, machine operator, and forklift operator. It requires forklift experience.

Night Shift: 7:00pm - 7:00am

Week 1: Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun

Week 2: Wed, Thurs, Fri

General Accountability/Support

• To serve as a member of ITW Medical, responsible for the quality and production of the machines for distribution to our customers.
• To ensure that every machine is operating according to all Manufacturing Instructions and Operating Procedures.
• To practice and encourage courtesy and helpfulness among all team members.
• To become fully trained in all areas of machine operation as per Standard Operating Procedures.
• Follow all ITW Medical rules and regulations.
• Perform end of the day clean up duties as required, and any other required housekeeping.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Conduct initial inspection of manufactured parts for defects; escalation issues as required
• Record all activities of assigned shift by completing proper forms; i.e. job activity sheets, break sheets, etc.
• Communicate with the shift lead and QC inspectors
• Replenish raw materials
• Report machine issues to technicians
• Minor troubleshooting
• Some knowledge or experience in injection molding, assembly and/or hybrid machine operation processes
• Ability to operate forklift.

Qualifications/Skills

Educational Level

• 1-3 years experience

Comprehension/Reasoning Skills

• This position requires the ability read and comprehend Operating Instructions and Manufacturing Specifications for the work performed.

Math Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute ratios and percentages.

Other Skills And Abilities

• Three years’ experience operating and maintaining automation equipment.
• Experience with vision inspection equipment preferred.
• Experience with 6-axis robots preferred.
• Experience with pneumatic systems preferred.
• This position requires corrected eyesight of 20/20 for the visual quality inspections that are performed on parts.
• Basic Computer Skills – Data Entry, Common Searches, Proficient use of Microsoft Suite, and other custom software packages specific to the business

Competencies/Physical Demands

• This position requires some physical movement around the machine areas, and an operator stands for 90% of their work shift.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• The employee must frequently lift and move 10-50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
