Job summary

Swvam is seeking a production operator to maximize productivity within strict safety, health, environmental, and quality guidelines. You will operate production equipment and assist burners, while collaborating with maintenance teams on servicing and minor repairs.

Responsibilities

• Operate production units to maximize productivity while meeting safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Operate production equipment (trains, utility vehicles, PCM’s) and assist burners in monitoring oven performance.
• Assist maintenance staff with maintenance tasks including minor troubleshooting, PMs, inspections, and emergency repairs.

Job description

• Performs tasks necessary to operate production unit to maximize productivity within safety/health, environmental, and quality requirements; communicating issues to appropriate personnel and departments as necessary
• Operates Production equipment such as Trains, Utility Cars, and/or PCM’s
• Assists Burners in monitoring oven performance
• Performs and assists maintenance personnel with maintenance work including but not limited to minor troubleshooting of equipment, PM’s, inspections and other tasks as necessary.
• Provide assistance to maintenance as requested in completing larger scope or emergency repair work,
• General housekeeping duties such as cleaning, wash down and shovel spillage from walkways, conveyor belts, transfer points and /or anywhere spillage may occur.
• Operates mobile equipment, including but not limited to, trucks, heavy equipment, dozers, front-end loaders, boom trucks, bobcat, forklift, and/or dump trucks.
• Makes sure all work is performed in accordance with work orders and policies

Performs other duties and assignments as required

Required Qualifications:

• Good communication and computer skills
• Experience in heavy industrial plant using compressed air, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• Be willing to work float schedule, overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
• Good safety and attendance records in previous jobs held
• Ability to work in hot and cold temperature extremes
• Good vision and manual dexterity.
• Understand the importance of the position with regard to cost and product quality
