Job summary

Sprung Services’ client in Atwater, MN is seeking a Utility Operator to join a modern industrial processing facility. You will support day-to-day plant operations, product handling, maintenance, and quality control while ensuring safe and efficient production.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing or ethanol production environment preferred but not required.
  • Special Boiler License or higher is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic computer skills or the ability to learn plant operating systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Perform water testing and maintain accurate operating logs and records.
  • Support daily plant operations by assisting with a variety of production and utility tasks.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities, including collecting samples, testing process streams, and responding to test results.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and general plant upkeep.
  • Load finished products into trucks and railcars, including weighing, sampling, and testing materials.
  • Move railcars throughout the facility to support shipping and receiving operations.
  • Assist with product transfer operations involving pumps, piping, and valves.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, front-end loaders, or similar equipment (preferred).
  • Maintain plant cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all environmental, health, safety, and operating procedures.
  • Accurately complete required documentation and operating records.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Schedule: 12-Hour Rotating Shift
Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay: $31-433

Position Overview

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and working around industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and climb stairs and ladders up to 150 feet.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, noise, and other industrial environmental.
