Job summary

Stake Center Locating in Illinois is seeking entry level Locate Technicians to locate underground utilities, troubleshoot, and mark the ground using paint and flags to promote damage prevention in the community.

We offer on-the-job training with 100% paid training. The role involves outdoor work in all weather, independence, and the ability to solve problems quickly and accurately while using provided locate equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Must be able to walk 5 miles daily 2–3 times per week.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs with tools and carry equipment.
• Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Think Safety First!
• Use a laptop to receive, document and process tickets and email.
• Read maps, interpret blueprints, and determine locating sequence.
• Use locate equipment to accurately locate underground utilities.
• Communicate effectively with peers, managers, and homeowners.
