You will receive on-the-job training, document excavation notices, read maps, operate locating equipment, and perform light excavation as needed. Candidates should have at least 12 months of direct utility locating experience, a valid US driver’s license, and pass pre-employment screens.

Qualifications

• Twelve months direct utility locating experience required.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Receive, document and close out excavation notices during and after hours.
• Read utility maps/prints to identify underground utilities.
• Communicate with excavators, utility reps and personnel about facilities.
• Operate locating equipment to locate and mark underground facilities.
• Perform light excavation with a shovel when necessary.
• Provide accurate documentation/sketches for completed locates.
• Respond to excavation notices within required time frames.
• Operate company vehicles safely and maintain a professional appearance.
• Be capable of manhole entry using assigned safety devices.
