Job summary

Stake Center Locating is hiring entry level Locate Technicians to locate underground utilities, troubleshoot, and mark the ground (using paint and flags), promoting damage prevention in your community. We will train you on the job and equip you with basic skills through 100% paid training.

You’ll join a team that values safety, independence and problem solving, with a vehicle provided for daily use and a focus on accurate, fast service.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to walk up to 5 miles daily 2–3 times per week.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs with help and up to 75 lbs with tools.
• Pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Think safety first in all locating tasks.
• Use a laptop to receive, document and process tickets and email.
• Read maps/read blueprints and determine best locating method and sequence.
• Use provided locate equipment to accurately locate underground utilities.
• Communicate effectively with peers, managers and homeowners.
