Job summary

Northern Lights Locating & Inspection, Inc. in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Utility Locator to join our team. You will locate underground utilities in compliance with 811 laws, read utility maps and GIS data, and document work using a mobile app.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of locating experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work in all weather. We offer competitive pay, holidays, insurance, and a 401(k) with company match.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret utility maps, as‑built drawings, and GIS data
• Use electronic locating equipment and multiple locating methods
• Accurately mark utilities using paint and flags
• Document all work using a mobile app including photos and reports
• Investigate and document excavation‑related utility damages
• Participate in an on‑call rotation

Job Details: St. Paul, MN 55101 | Salary Range: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour | Status: Full‑Time Employee | Preferred Experience: Minimum 2 years utility locating experience.

Position: Utility Locator

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Locate underground utilities in compliance with all 811 dig laws

• Use electronic locating equipment and multiple locating methods
• Accurately mark utilities using paint and flags
• Document all work using a mobile app including photos and reports
