Northern Lights Locating & Inspections Inc is seeking a Training and Compliance Specialist – Locate Division in Dayton, OH. The role develops and oversees training programs for utility locating, and audits locators to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The candidate should have extensive locating experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for safety and education, with travel ~75% for field audits and training sessions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of utility locating experience required.
• Knowledge of locating multiple utilities (electric, telecom, water, sewer, gas, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in reading utility maps.
• Ability to present professionally and foster a learning environment for trainees, managers, and employees.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a DOT physical certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and oversee training programs for utility locating practices.
• Audit field locators to ensure safety, accuracy, and policy compliance; document findings.
• Maintain records of training and audits; prepare reports on effectiveness and compliance.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to locators; analyze data to identify trends and improvements.
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure regulatory compliance in training and auditing.
