What You’ll Do

General Production employees work with hand tools, knives, machinery, and other equipment to process meat products for consumers. The role is physically demanding, requires good hand‑eye coordination and attention to detail, and may involve overtime based on production demands.

Qualifications

• All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must perform tasks requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms.
• Must be able to stand for up to a 12‑hour shift on concrete or platforms.
• Must work around animal blood and/or carcass parts.
• Must be willing and able to work with a knife (if trained).
• Must be able to work in cold (approximately 20‑40 degrees) and/or hot (over 100 degrees) areas.
• Must be able to work in wet and humid environments.
• Must wear hard hats, hearing/eye protection, and steel‑toed safety shoes.
• Must operate in a noisy environment using PPE.
• Must handle sanitation/cleaning chemicals.
• Must tolerate strong smells/odors.
• Must climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways, and platforms.
• Must bend, stoop, and twist repetitively over the course of a shift.
• Must walk long distances.
• May require certification to operate equipment necessary for the position.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The job requires the use of some or all body parts and muscle groups. Positions may involve repetitive overhead lifting up to 30 lbs, single lifting of objects up to 60 lbs, or lifting with mechanical assistance.

Additional essential functions may be applicable to specific jobs. May perform other duties as assigned.
