Job summary

Davey Resource Group, Inc. is seeking a field-focused vegetation management professional to support planning and analysis for utility rights of way.

You will inspect vegetation, collect data, and contribute to protection zone recommendations while leveraging handheld technology in diverse terrain. The role requires travel across the service area, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work independently in outdoor environments and challenging weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy outdoor work and be able to hike in rugged terrain and in inclement weather.
• Ability to read and follow GIS data and maps; work independently.
• Leadership experience and a desire for career growth will be given priority.
• Strong problem-solving, meeting deadlines, and technical innovation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel throughout the utility service area.
• Valid driver’s license with clean DMV record; able to drive a 4x4 vehicle.
• Ability to identify local tree species and growth rates.
• Organizational skills and proficiency with computers and data sharing.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all aspects of vegetation management planning and analysis.
• Utilize technology to help electric utilities deliver safe, reliable power.
• Inspect and assess vegetation in right-of-ways for compliance and work plans.
• Identify tree and brush control work and protection zone recommendations.
• Collect data and document work using handheld devices; assess terrain and environmental conditions.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Planners, and Vegetation Crews to create customized solutions.
