Job summary

Blythe Development Co, a Charlotte-based general contractor, is seeking a Foreman to supervise a pipe crew on North Carolina job sites. The role includes directing field operations, coordinating heavy equipment usage, and ensuring adherence to drawings and specifications.

The successful candidate will oversee safety, quality, and timely reporting of materials and progress, supporting project success across multiple sites in NC, SC, and VA.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising subsurface construction and pipe crews.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in demanding field conditions.
• Knowledge of sanitary sewer, drainage and watermain piping.
• Able to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards on site.

General Description

The foreman supervises field operations of a pipe crew. They will also engage in the trade work performed by the crew.

Key Duties

• Knowledgeable in the areas of pipework for sanitary sewer, drains, and watermains
• Directly supervisors pipe crew, reporting to Superintendent
• Operates and supervises the operation of heavy equipment on project sites
• Reads, understands, and interprets drawings and specifications
• Provides reports on time and materials
• Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met
• Use of heavy equipment and supervision of the use of heavy equipment
• Dewatering, bypass pumping, wet utilities, heavy equipment, line alignment, leak testing
• Knowledge of local specifications, materials, and methods
• Flexibility with schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes

Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry 50+ lbs
• Proven experience supervising subsurface construction, ability to multi-task and resolve issues
