• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years of production line experience in an industrial setting is highly preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for 7+ hours daily.
• Proficiency in English to read and follow safety procedures and manuals.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to communicate machine issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of production areas, equipment spaces, floors, and facilities (75%).
• Assist pellet mill operator with monitoring pellet mill and dryer systems (25%).
• Take moisture samples and perform quality testing as required.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and communicate status with Production Manager and team.
• Back up Mill and Packaging Operators as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

About this position

Description:

Job Type: Full-time

Shift Schedule: Typically 44–48 hours per week, consisting of three 12-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift. Overtime may be available or required based on operational needs. Weekend coverage is generally required 1 time per month and may include an additional 12-hour shift.

Salary: $18.00–$20.00 per hour + $1.00/hour shift differential + monthly bonus incentive of up to $2.86/hour

Lignetics is a leading manufacturer of renewable wood products with over 30 years of experience. We transform recycled wood materials into high-quality products, including wood pellets for home heating and grilling, animal bedding, and wood fiber-based cat litter.

Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe manufacturing facility while also providing operational support to the production team. The majority of the role focuses on industrial cleaning and janitorial duties throughout the plant. This position will also assist with pellet mill operations, quality testing, preventative maintenance, and serve as a backup for Mill and Packaging Operators as needed.

Maintain Cleanliness of Manufacturing Facilities – 75%

• Perform both light and heavy janitorial duties in a manufacturing environment.
• Maintain cleanliness of production areas, equipment areas, floors, and other assigned spaces.
• Help maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Perform additional cleaning and facility-related duties as required.

Pellet Mill Operation Assistance and Backup – 25%

• Assist the Pellet Mill Operator on the designated shift with monitoring the plant pellet mill and dryer operating systems.
• Serve as backup for the designated Pellet Mill Operator and/or Packaging Operator when needed.
• Take moisture samples and perform quality testing at required intervals.
• Assist with preventative maintenance (PM) responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain communication with the Production Manager and coworkers regarding work status, equipment, and production needs.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One to two years of production line experience in an industrial setting highly preferred.
• Must possess good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
• Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time and multitask.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills required.
• Ability to perform simple math calculations.
• Ability to immediately understand and react to verbal safety commands, audible alarms, and written hazard alerts in English in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in English sufficient to accurately read, interpret, and follow equipment lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and machine operation manuals.
• Ability to clearly and immediately communicate machine malfunctions, near misses, unsafe conditions, and other safety concerns to supervisors and team members.
• This role operates in the immediate vicinity of fast-moving, heavy automated equipment. Clear, real-time communication and strict adherence to English-language safety signage and procedures are required for workplace safety.
