Job summary

AOI in Sugar Land, TX, seeks a Utility Engineer to oversee plant-wide process utility systems for future cleanroom expansions. You will coordinate new projects, supervise construction, commission assets, and ensure reliable and energy-efficient operation of chillers, boilers, DI water, CDA, vacuum, and PCW.

Required are a mechanical/chemical/facilities engineering background with 2+ years in industrial utilities, preferably in semiconductor environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Facilities Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in industrial utility, semiconductor factory or high-tech manufacturing facility.
• Profound knowledge of chillers, boilers, water treatment units, compressors, vacuum pumps, heat exchangers and industrial piping systems.
• Capable of troubleshooting utility system failures and supporting facility capital projects independently.
• Working experience in semiconductor wafer fab utility department.
• Familiar with DI water, CDA, vacuum, PCW and central boiler/chiller station operation logic.
• Basic operation knowledge of BAS, PLC and facility real-time monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• New project technical coordination: scheme review, construction supervision, commissioning & acceptance, asset handover and rectification for all utility systems of new cleanrooms.
• Technical management of utility systems: manage plant-wide utility infrastructure including chillers, boilers, DI water, CDA, vacuum and PCW.
• Operation and energy control: develop SOPs, preventive maintenance plans and energy optimization schemes; monitor key indicators.
• Fault handling & upgrading: lead root cause analysis and capital renovation projects for capacity expansion and replacements.
• Technical guidance for operation teams: support maintenance teams and standardize inspection/workflows; reduce shutdown risks.
