Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in San Antonio, TX seeks a Utility Designer II to prepare utility design plans for electric, gas, and other systems on land development projects. You will coordinate with engineers, PMs, and agencies to deliver accurate designs and ensure timely delivery.

Requires 3–5 years of utility design experience, ArcGIS proficiency, and a related degree. Full-time with standard hours and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

Associate degree in CAD, GIS, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field is required.
3–5 years of utility design experience preferred in land development or engineering consulting.
Proficiency with ArcGIS for mapping and data analysis; knowledge of electric and gas distribution design standards; experience with civil construction drawings and utility coordination.

Responsibilities

Prepare and revise complex utility design drawings and construction documents.
Independently perform utility design layout for electric, gas, and other infrastructure on land development projects.
Coordinate utility designs with internal teams, municipalities, and utilities to facilitate project execution.
Ensure QA/QC and permitting requirements are integrated into design documentation.
Assist with or lead the preparation and submittal of utility permit applications.
