City of Wilmer is seeking a Field Foreman to lead crews performing water and wastewater system maintenance. The role includes supervision, equipment operation, and ensuring safety and quality on outdoor projects.
Ideal candidates have five years of related experience, a valid Texas driver’s license, and the ability to read drawings and manage records. The position emphasizes on-site leadership and coordination of tasks for city infrastructure maintenance.
Acts as lead worker for crews performing semi-skilled work in the proper maintenance and construction of water and sewer systems. Position also performs related tasks to include water sample collection, lift station inspection, manhole repair, line excavation and all other water and wastewater utility related tasks. Additional responsibilities include procurement of materials, work orders, and record-keeping for each project.

The Public Works Field Foreman assigns work in terms of general instructions and occasionally detailed instructions. The work is spot checked for accuracy and propriety of the final results. This position does not supervise other positions but does act as lead worker in completing assignments on job sites.

Work subjects the employee to inside and outside environmental conditions, extremes in temperatures, and hazards associated with equipment operation including fumes, oils, gases and mists.
This position will have intermittent periods of standing, sitting, and walking. Intermittent moderate amount of walking (7-10 miles) is required for this position. The employee must have the ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull greater than 50 pounds, and may require infrequent lifting of greater than 100 pounds.
This position is exposed to extreme elements including extreme heat and/or cold, wet and/or humid conditions, noise intensity level, moving mechanical parts/hazards, dirt/dust, and odors.
Constant use of protective personnel equipment including but not limited to footwear, eyewear, and use of reflective clothing is required.
