Job summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) is seeking a Utility Cleaner to support NSF Suitland - NMIC, MD. This role focuses on maintaining cleanliness of offices, restrooms, and common areas while complying with safety and security requirements.

The position requires physical ability, ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English, and willingness to work a ranged schedule with travel up to 25%. Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal cleaning instructions in English.
• Must comply with OSHA safety regulations and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and floor care, including mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, waxing and buffing.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas; restock supplies.
• Empty trash and transport waste to disposal areas; maintain entrances and surrounding areas.
• Dust and clean furniture, equipment, fixtures, and interior windows; move furniture as needed.

Scope of Work:

The primary purpose of this position is tomaintainthe cleanliness of assigned areas, including communal spaces, restrooms, workspaces, and exterior areas. Responsibilities include performing a variety of cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and polishing surfaces and floors; removing trash; restocking supplies; and ensuring restrooms are clean and properlymaintained.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning and floor care, including mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, waxing, buffing, and stripping floors;operatecleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and other tools as needed.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, breakrooms, andcommon areas, including fixtures, surfaces, appliances, and floors; restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Empty trash and transport waste todesignateddisposal areas;maintaincleanliness of entrances, exits, and surrounding areas by removing debris and cleaning glass, doors, and surfaces.
• Dust and clean furniture, equipment, blinds, light fixtures, mirrors, and interior windows; move furniture as needed to support cleaning activities.
• Report damages, safety concerns, and vandalism; perform minor maintenance tasks asrequired.
• Properly mix, use, and store cleaning chemicals and suppliesin accordance withsafety guidelines;maintainadequate inventory.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Prior custodial or janitorial experienceis preferredbut notrequired.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals,productsand equipment, including knowledge of the Hazardous Materials Information System
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English, including understanding labels and proper application of cleaning chemicals and products.
• Understanding of safety procedures and ability to work in compliance with OSHA and workplace safety regulations.
• Musthold andmaintainaTier 3 (Secret Clearance) orTier5background check(Top Secret / SCI Clearance),asrequiredfor the position.
• Must be able tomaintainthe ability to access the government worksite.
• Mustpossessand maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record,in accordance withcompany policy, tooperatevehicles or equipment asrequiredfor the position.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

• Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending,squatting,stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
• Repetitive use of hands and arms for cleaning tasks and operation of custodial equipment.
• Visual acuity and manual dexterityrequiredfor detail cleaning and safe equipment use.
• Work performed primarily indoors in offices, restrooms, hallways, andcommon areas, with occasional outdoor cleaning assignments.
• Exposure tocleaningchemicals, dust, and waste materials; personal protective equipment (PPE) provided andrequired.
• May work in occupied or unoccupied facilities; mustmaintainprofessional conduct around military personnel and civilian staff.
• Must be able to workon-call,alternate,and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
• Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and aroundvarioushazards withappropriate PPE.

US Pay Range

$33.06 - $33.06 USD
