Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Elkhart, IN is seeking a Dishwasher / Kitchen Support to assist with food preparation, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean kitchen and dining area. You will support the dining services team and help deliver excellent service to residents and guests.

Responsibilities include food prep assistance, portioning, keeping areas sanitized, stocking supplies, and reporting issues to a supervisor. A flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Good organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Must be able to work under close supervision.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment usage.
• Ability to understand and apply simple instructions.
• Ability to stand, kneel and walk for extended periods.

• Assist with dining room service as needed, including pouring beverages.
• Replace paper towels and clean hand sinks.
• Stock food on shelves and in the refrigerator.
• Report problems in the kitchen or dining room to the supervisor.
• Attend all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Provide superior customer service to residents and guests.

Job Description

The Food Service/Prep Aide shall assist the cook in the preparation and presentation of food. He/she will be responsible for the dishwashing area and the cleanliness of all dishes, silverware, and glassware, and will assist in other areas of the dining operation as needed.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feet.
• Must wear slip-resistant footwear.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
