Job summary

The City of Lake Alfred is seeking a dedicated Service Worker II to support the operation and maintenance of our wastewater, water collection, and distribution systems. This is a full-time, non-exempt position offering the opportunity to work hands-on in a vital public service role.

Responsibilities include testing wastewater systems, pumping sludge, and performing operational checks. Must have a high school diploma and two years of relevant experience, plus Florida license requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of wastewater plant operations experience or equivalent training/experience.
• Ability to operate utility-related equipment and follow written/oral instructions.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment, tools, and occupational safety.

Minimum Qualifications

Licenses

• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
• Class B CDL required or the ability to attain one within one year of hire.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to perform manual labor, lift up to 70 lbs., and safely operate tools and vehicles.
