SUMMARY OF POSITION

Kinsley is seeking personnel for our growing Utilities water and gas line crews in Lancaster County, PA and surrounding areas. Positions include laborers and service technicians. Successful candidates should possess a willingness to learn, have a good work ethic, and a positive attitude.

Note: this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

LABORER

• Assisting with job site pipeline installation operations.
• Use of required hand tools.
• Operating non-CDL dump trucks and service trucks.
• Daily clean-up of job sites.

SERVICE TECHNICIAN

• Complete pipefitting tasks as required by using basic hand tools (pipe wrenches, threading steel pipe, flare fittings, and hammer drill).
• Relocate gas meters from inside to outside to ensure the piping is back into existing customer fuel line.
• Install pressure set point gauges.
• Perform load / lockup tests.
• Pinpoint and manage possible leaks.
• Recognize hazards that may constitute a warning tag.
• Appropriately tag customer fuel lines or appliances as needed (red, orange, or yellow tag).
• Complete electronic orders and document gas meter information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 1 year of experience in pipe installation.
• Comfortable working around heavy equipment.
• Able to lift, bend, carry, and perform other physically demanding tasks.
• Must have a basic knowledge of the MSP, GOM, and Fuel Gas Code for Service Technician position.
• Must have HVAC knowledge to perform meter activation and relight natural gas appliances in accordance with procedures for Service Technician position.
• Experience working with and around heavy equipment.
• Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and moving whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
• Valid PA driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Must have a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
