Fiesta Mart in Austin, TX is hiring a Utilities Clerk for Store 064 Austin-I35 South (ages 16-17). The role supports the Produce Department, assists customers on the floor, and helps with store maintenance to keep shopping safe and efficient.

You will bag groceries, deliver groceries on request, maintain carts, check prices, and assist with go-backs and checkout area upkeep. The job emphasizes physical tasks like lifting and standing in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Reads and writes in Spanish and English; interacts with customers and co-workers.
• Reads and comprehends simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, and memos.
• Writes simple correspondence.
• Presents information clearly in 1-on-1 or small group settings.
• Follows written or oral instructions with basic understanding.
• Physical: able to lift up to 25 lb, 45 lb regularly, 60 lb occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist in proper store maintenance, especially Produce Department.
• Bag groceries and carry out groceries for customers when needed.
• Maintain store carts, run price checks, assist with go-backs and check stand upkeep.
• Remove waste from the parking area and keep the store clean and safe.

The Opportunity

To assist in the proper maintenance of the store, particularly in the Produce Department and assist customers on the store floor as needed.

The Utilities Clerk will properly bag groceries for customers when needed. If requested, they will carry out groceries for customers. The Utilities Clerk is responsible for the store maintenance to ensure the store is clean and safe at all times. They will maintain and retrieve store carts, run price checks, assist with go-backs, assist with check stand upkeep, and remove waste from the parking area.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
