Job summary

Fiesta Mart is seeking a Utilities Clerk at Store 020 Houston-Willowbrook to assist in proper store maintenance, especially Produce, and help customers on the floor.

The role involves bagging groceries, carrying groceries, retrieving carts, price checks, go-backs, check stand upkeep, and waste removal from the parking area; physical duties include lifting and standing.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and coworkers.
• Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

Assist in the proper maintenance of the store, particularly in the Produce Department, and assist customers on the store floor as needed. The Utilities Clerk will properly bag groceries for customers when needed, carry out groceries for customers, and maintain and retrieve store carts, run price checks, assist with go‑backs, assist with check stand upkeep, and remove waste from the parking area. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store and includes physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
