Job summary

Fiesta Mart is seeking a Utilities Clerk for Store 009 Houston-Jensen to support Produce and assist customers on the sales floor. The role emphasizes bilingual communication (Spanish/English) and practical daily tasks in a fast-paced grocery environment.

The Utilities Clerk will bag groceries, help with carrying groceries, maintain cleanliness, manage carts, perform price checks, and support go-backs and checkout area upkeep while lifting up to 60 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with the public and coworkers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers and coworkers.
• Apply common sense to follow detailed but uninvolved instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in proper store maintenance, especially Produce Department, and help customers on the floor.
• Bag groceries, carry out groceries for customers when needed, and maintain store cleanliness and safety.
• Retrieve store carts, run price checks, assist with go-backs and checkout upkeep, remove waste from the parking area.

The Opportunity

To assist in the proper maintenance of the store, particularly in the Produce Department and assist customers on the store floor as needed.

The Utilities Clerk will properly bag groceries for customers when needed. If requested, they will carry out groceries for customers. The Utilities Clerk is responsible for the store maintenance to ensure the store is clean and safe at all times. They will maintain and retrieve store carts, run price checks, assist with go-backs, assist with check stand upkeep, and remove waste from the parking area.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
