Job summary

MSG Entertainment Holdings, LLC is seeking an Usher at the Beacon Theatre in New York. This part-time, event-driven role involves greeting guests, guiding them to their seats, and assisting with crowd management during live events.

Responsibilities

  • Check tear or scan guest’s tickets.
  • Welcome guests to the event, provide guest service and answer questions as requested.
  • Check aisles prior to the house open to ensure cleanliness of aisles and seating areas.
  • Provide information to guests and answer questions regarding the Venue facility.
  • Be a problem solver with guests incidents.
  • Ensure that the rules and regulations of Beacon Theatre are being adhered to.
  • Rotate to various positions, assisting other departments within a shift, including private events.
  • Carry and display handheld signs to support crowd management and event operations.
  • End-of-night seat checks inspecting chairs for damage, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including appearance and presentation guidelines on-site.

Who are we hiring?

As an Usher at the Beacon Theatre, you will provide positive guest/client experiences at live events. An Usher is responsible for greeting the guest, directional assistance through various entry/departure points, line management, assisting with emergency or medical situations, and answering frequent questions regarding the event or the Beacon Theatre.

What will you do?

  • Check tear or scan guest’s tickets.
  • Welcome guests to the event, provide guest service and answer questions as requested.
  • Check aisles prior to the house open to ensure cleanliness of aisles and seating areas.
  • Provide information to guests and answer questions/inquiries regarding the Venue facility.
  • Be a problem solver with guests incidents.
  • Ensure that the rules and regulations of Beacon Theatre are being adhered to.
  • Must be willing to rotate to various positions, assisting other departments within a shift, not limited to working Private events.
  • Carry and display handheld signs to support crowd management, patron wayfinding, and event operations.
  • Conduct end-of-night seat checks by inspecting every chair throughout the venue for damage, cleanliness, and safety concerns, reporting issues as needed.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

What do you need to succeed?

  • The ideal candidate will have strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Aid guests with disabilities by providing wheelchair escorts and partnering with the Disabled Services group as necessary.
  • Must be able to solve guest issues and handle stressful situations in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that the rules and regulations of Beacon Theatre are being adhered to.
  • Must be comfortable with heights.

Special Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
  • Able to walk and stand during the entire shift
  • Must be receptive to working outside in inclement weather and extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to climb and descend multiple flights of stairs while carrying equipment or supplies
  • This position is part-time and scheduled on an event driven basis.
  • Must be able to work within an environment with loud noises and everchanging visuals
  • Ability to stand and move about the theater throughout the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.

Hourly Pay Range

$19.68 — $19.68 USD
