Whirlpool, contributing to KitchenAid portfolio, is seeking a user experience researcher and designer to shape product usability across consumer electronics and home appliances. You will plan and conduct research, design data-driven experiences, and advocate for user-centered design through multiple cross-functional projects.

• Master's degree in HCI, Graphic Design, Cognitive Science/Psychology, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Engineering Design Innovation, or related field.
• 6 months of experience in the offered position or closely related occupation.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and conduct usability and research activities to inform product design and strategy.
• Design data-driven user experiences and create deliverables such as wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional global stakeholders including Industrial Designers, Product Developers, Engineers, Marketing, and Design teams.
• Document specifications used by engineers to implement design.
• Develop and conduct in-house research to gather insights and advocate for user-centered design throughout product development.
• Stay abreast of trends and analyze the competitive landscape to inform near and long-term roadmaps.

Play a key role in shaping the user experience for our products at Whirlpool. Conduct research, design data-driven experiences, and advocate for user-centered design throughout various cross-functional projects within the KitchenAid portfolio. Plan and conduct usability and research activities to ensure that user-centered design principles and methods positively impact Whirlpool’s diverse range of consumer products. Understand and advocate consumers’ needs, behaviors, and abilities throughout product development. Collaborate with cross-functional global stakeholders to understand requirements and co-create thoughtful solutions. Work closely with industrial designers, visual designers, marketing and engineering. Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and/or high-fidelity prototypes. Document the specifications utilized by engineers to execute design. Provide input and actionable recommendations to strategic partners such as Industrial Designers, Product Developers, Engineers, and Marketers. Develop and conduct in-house research to gather insights. Collaborate with the Strategy Team to create and maintain now-near-far term roadmaps for user experience design and technology application. Stay abreast of the latest trends for product innovation by analyzing the competitive landscape and adjacent industries.

REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Cognitive Science/Psychology, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Engineering Design Innovation, or related field plus 6 months of experience in the offered position or closely related occupation.
