Job summary

US Auto Trust in San Diego is seeking a Used Vehicle Technician to inspect, diagnose, service, and recondition pre-owned vehicles for retail sale. This developmental role offers a pathway to becoming a fully qualified Aston Martin Technician.

The successful candidate will perform used-vehicle inspections and repairs to dealership standards, with opportunities for Aston Martin-specific training, hands-on work, and collaboration with existing technicians.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of automotive technician experience preferred.
• Customer satisfaction driven and energetic team player.
• Problem solving by analyzing and interpreting data.
• Manual dexterity and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Master technician skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Operating dealership-owned and customer-owned vehicles safely.
• Providing accurate and trustworthy diagnoses and repairs to maintain customer trust.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Documents all work performed and recommendations on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Using and maintaining expensive tools and equipment.
• Inspects and tests drive newly delivered vehicles for obvious damage and missing major components and drivability functions
• Keeps the shop area neat and clean.
• Maintains and holds accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
• Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
• Handling hazardous materials, such as motor oil, coolant, and cleaning agents, in compliance with safety regulations.
• Accessing restricted or secure areas of the dealership.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
• Other tasks as assigned.
