Job summary

Peltier Subaru in Tyler, Texas is seeking a dependable Used Car Technician to join our team. The role involves inspecting pre-owned vehicles, diagnosing issues, and performing repairs to ensure safe, reliable cars for customers.

You will handle oil changes, brake work, tire services, and general maintenance, while maintaining a clean, organized workspace and adhering to safety procedures. ASE credentials are a plus; valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Experience as automotive technician or mechanic preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable, organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Used Car Technician – Peltier Subaru

Peltier Subaru is looking for a dependable and experiencedUsed Car Technicianto join our team! This position plays an important role in making sure our pre‑owned vehicles are inspected, serviced, repaired, and ready to provide our customers with a safe and reliable driving experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform thorough inspections on pre‑owned vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and safety‑related concerns.
• Complete necessary repairs and maintenance to prepare vehicles for the lot.
• Perform oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, fluid services, battery replacements, and other general automotive repairs.
• Identify additional repairs or maintenance needed during inspections.
• Work efficiently to help maintain a quick turnaround time on used vehicle inventory.
• Document inspections, repairs, and recommended work accurately.
• Communicate with management regarding vehicle condition and repair needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow dealership and manufacturer safety procedures.
• Help ensure every pre‑owned vehicle meets Peltier Subaru’s standards before being offered to customers.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive technician or mechanical experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be dependable, organized, and detail‑oriented.
• Ability to properly operate automotive tools and equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
