Job summary

Capitol Chevrolet in Austin, TX, seeks a Service Technician to perform repairs efficiently per the dealership's standards. You will diagnose and repair a range of vehicle systems, test via diagnostic tools, and communicate timelines for additional work to the Used Car Service Manager.

A strong customer-service approach and teamwork are essential. Qualifications include 2+ years of experience, ASE certification a plus, a high school diploma, and the ability to learn new tech.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred.
• ASE Certifications a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair.
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand and good hand‑eye coordination.
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies.
• Positive, friendly attitude with eagerness to improve.
• Team player with ability to collaborate with others.
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Willing to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C.
• Communicate with the Used Car Service Manager if additional service is needed and estimate time for repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Know how to perform maintenance on all makes and models of vehicles.
