Job summary

Sam's Club in Durham, NC is seeking a Customer Service Associate to assist Members with purchases, locate merchandise and provide guidance on products and services. This role includes stocking, displays, and processing transactions in the Tire and Battery Center, while ensuring safety and paperwork compliance.

You will help maintain the sales floor, handle claims and returns, and support with vehicle services such as tire installation and battery work.

Qualifications

• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide Member service by assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise and resolving issues.
• Maintain merchandise presentation by stocking, setting up displays and pricing items.
• Maintain the Sales Floor in the Tire and Battery Center, handle claims, returns, zoning and organization.
• Receive and stock merchandise, organize the Tire and Battery Center and complete required paperwork.
• Uphold safety standards, conduct safety sweeps, forklift spotting and hazardous materials procedures.
• Operate cash registers, process member purchases, returns, refunds and exchanges.
• Assist Members with services, vehicle service requests, and related paperwork.
• Drive customer service in the Tire and Battery Center and inform Members of any vehicle damage before servicing.
• Support with tire installation, balancing, rotation, and battery services as needed.
• Promote products and services and participate in benefits and education programs.

What you'll do…

Provides Member service by acknowledging the Member, identifying their needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues and concerns, and promoting the Company's products and services.

Maintains merchandise presentation by stocking merchandise, setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays, removing damaged goods, signing and pricing merchandise appropriately, and securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise.

Maintains the Sales Floor in Tire and Battery Center in accordance with Company policies and procedures by properly handling claims and returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages.

Receives and stocks merchandise in the Tire and Battery Center, and organizes and maintains the Tire and Battery Center by following Company procedures, utilizing equipment appropriately, merchandising, and completing paperwork, logs, and other required documentation.

Maintains safety of Facility by following all safety standards, procedures, and guidelines including conducting safety sweeps, following proper forklift spotting procedures, following proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials, following Company steel standard guidelines, and correcting/reporting unsafe situations to Management.

Operates hardware such as cash registers or related equipment, processes member purchases, and assists in payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges using appropriate procedures for different membership and payment types.

Provides products and services to Members in accordance with Company policies and procedures by assisting with purchasing and service decisions, completing vehicle service requests and tests, operating Tire and Battery Center equipment properly and safely, receiving, storing, and disposing of merchandise and supplies, and completing and maintaining paperwork.

Maintains and services Members automobiles by driving cars into and out of bay area, identifying, notating, and informing Members of damage to their vehicles prior to servicing, following Company guidelines for tire installation, performing additional automotive services as needed (for example, repairing or replacing flats, balancing or rotating tires, and testing and installing batteries), and operating computer equipment when processing Member services.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00*
*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
