Job summary

Walmart is seeking a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join its local and regional teams in Kenton, OH. The role involves maintaining and repairing Walmart facilities and equipment across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling trades.

You will respond to emergencies, document repairs in the work order system, and perform safety-oriented equipment inspections. Ideal candidates will have vocational/technical certification with 3 years in related trades or 5 years total

Qualifications

• Must have vocational or technical certification and 3 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets across multiple craft areas (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, equipment).
• Use work order management system to receive and document repairs.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete training to operate equipment safely.

Position Requirements:

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
• Can move up and down ladders frequently
• Comfortable working at heights frequently
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Able to work in various temperatures.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
• Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely
