Job summary

Walmart in Rapid City, SD is seeking a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and repair refrigeration equipment across our local stores. You will apply commercial HVAC/R skills, use hand and power tools, and work with a team dedicated to reliability and safety.

The role requires 2 years of commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance, EPA certification, and a valid driver’s license. You’ll join a fast-paced, safety‑driven environment with extensive training and growth

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using HVAC/R skills and tools
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders and document repair activities
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspect facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
• Complete training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely

Compensation

Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.

Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.

Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.

Where required, HVAC‑R/ Mechanical Journeyman.

Valid state‑issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.

• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years. Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years. No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years. No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
