Job summary

Walmart in City of Industry, CA is seeking a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local and regional team. If you have hands-on maintenance skills across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and equipment, bring them to our fast-paced environment.

You will perform proactive and reactive repairs, use a work order system, respond to emergencies, and complete safety training to ensure industry-leading store operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean MVR.
• 1 year experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area OR 2 years total work experience.
• Commercial driving record: no DUI/DWI in last five years; no more than two moving violations in last three years.
• Preferred: completion of a 2-year Vocational/Technical program; experience with blueprints, wiring diagrams; experience using hand tools, power tools and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and hand/power tools.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.

Position Requirements:

• 18 years or older

• Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
• Can move up and down ladders frequently
• Comfortable working at heights frequently
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Able to work in various temperatures.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
• Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.

No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
