Job summary

Walmart in Winston-Salem, NC is hiring an Exterior Services Technician - DOT Operator to oversee landscape projects and maintain grounds year-round. You will operate equipment, collaborate with a dedicated team, and ensure safety and compliance with OSHA/EPA guidelines while delivering clean and inviting exterior spaces.

Minimum qualifications include being 21+, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to pass a DOT physical, and basic English proficiency.

Qualifications

• No more than two moving violations in the last three years (CDL required).

• Two years’ landscaping/gardening experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum age of 21 years
• Valid state-issued driver's license
• Hold a valid state-issued driver's license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

• No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre- hire.
• As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
• 2 years' experience in the landscaping/gardening industry

Preferred Qualifications

• Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner's Certification (MEC) card, Associate's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
• Experience in third-party management.
• Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
• State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).
