Walmart in Augusta, GA is seeking a pharmacist to provide patient-centered care by accurately dispensing prescriptions and counseling customers on therapies and safety. The position requires a PharmD or pharmacy degree, a current license, and immunization training, plus experience in a fast-paced retail setting.
Position Summary: Provides pharmaceutical care to customers including processing and accurately dispensing prescription orders, counseling customers regarding health care and prescription medication needs, maintaining confidential information, controlling medication, and required documentation. Demonstrates up‑to‑date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others. Supports implementation of business solutions by building relationships with stakeholders, identifying business needs, determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, monitoring progress and results, recognizing improvement opportunities, and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models compliance with company policies and procedures, supports company standards of ethics and integrity, and ensures adherence to the Open Door Policy and relevant business plans. Ensures compliance with company and legal policies, procedures, and regulations for assigned areas, implements and monitors loss prevention and safety controls, oversees safety, operational, and quality assurance reviews, develops and implements action plans, and provides direction on company programs and strategic initiatives. Maintains confidential information, documentation, and assigned records as required by company policies and local, state, and federal guidelines.
Responsible for providing comprehensive patient care by processing and accurately dispensing prescription orders, administering immunizations, and other programs developed by Walmart in compliance with Board of Pharmacy statutes and regulations. Creates a culture of patient care, safety, and accuracy, communicates clear expectations, ensures others adhere to standard operating procedures, and achieves expected quality and patient safety goals. Provides counseling related to health services on new therapies, new items, and when requested by patients or required by practice or state regulations, with appropriate documentation. Analyzes and identifies areas of improvement, implements interventions, promotes reporting and transparency of errors, and writes timely action plans focused on root‑cause identification and correction.
Staff implements compliance initiatives and priorities, monitors execution by associates, ensures appropriate operational execution of billing procedures, complies with HIPAA, and utilizes auditing processes to identify compliance issues and implement improvement processes. Fosters an environment centered on healthcare compliance execution, actively communicates and trains associates on these processes, and implements billing and safety controls.

The hourly wage range for this position is $47.12 – $82.69*. *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
