Job summary

Walmart in Plainview, TX is seeking a maintenance technician to perform inspections, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment including tractors, trailers, and yard trucks. You will create work orders, run diagnostics, and ensure safety during fuel drops.

You will identify warrantable repairs, document details in the system, and process warranty claims while adhering to company policies and DOT guidelines. Exceptional teamwork and integrity are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years working experience in tractor and trailer inspection/repair OR technical school degree/certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Brake inspection qualification per FMCSA standards; Vehicle Inspection qualification as defined in FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment (tractors, trailers, yard trucks, shop equipment) following company guidelines; create work orders and perform diagnostics.
• Receive fuel drops, monitor safety, collect samples for analysis, and complete required paperwork.
• Identify warrantable repairs, document condition and cause in maintenance system, process warranty claims and manage parts accordingly.

What you’ll do…

• Performs minor to intermediate inspections repairs and replacements following company guidelines on all Walmart equipment for exampletrailers tractors yard trucks shop equipment service vehicles by creating and processing work orders performing minor diagnostics with technical and electronic equipment on the various Walmart equipment for example tractor engine components electronics drive trains minor HVAC assessing maintenance repair and replacement needs identifying needed parts and possible solutions consulting with others and selecting the best possible solution conducting repairs and replacements for example repair drivetrain components repairing and replacing communication equipment and onboard technology tractor and minor trailer diagnstics of HVAC systems following company and Department of Transportation DOT guidelines and requirements communicating with individuals or groups for example customers suppliers associates verbally and in writing
• Receive fuel drops and conduct fuel sampling by monitoring the drop to ensure safety compliance following procedures for fuel additives monitoring tank levels before and after the drop collecting and preparing fuel samples for analysis and shipping and completing appropriate paperwork
• Correctly identifies and performs warrantable repairs by entering accurate information on the condition cause and correction into the maintenance system completing warranty tags as needed and ensuring parts are retained according to warranty guidelines and creating and processing warranty claims to ensure proper credit is received according to company guidelines
