Walmart is hiring a Senior Technician for Facility Services (HVAC/Refrigeration) in Glendora, CA. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing Walmart facility Refrigeration HVAC equipment across stores, using hand and power tools, and diagnostic gear.

You will handle work orders, respond to emergencies, and ensure OSHA/EPA compliance with safety policies. The position requires extensive HVAC/R experience, EPA refrigerant handling Certification, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• 10 years in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• EPA Type I/II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record.
• 18+ with HS diploma or equivalent.
• Option 1: 3 years HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience.
• Option 2: 6 years HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration + AAS in related field.
• HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman where required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility Refrigeration HVAC equipment using tools and equipment.
• Receive and document Work Orders using the system to support stores.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect facilities and diagnose issues with equipment.
• Complete required safety and training for equipment operation.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA guidelines per Walmart policy.
• Lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights frequently.

As a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Tech nician at our local retail store, your role will support and oversee repair within the Walmart facilities Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets by utilizing commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills and using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
• Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
• 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Option 1: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling
• Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
• 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2-year associate’s of applied science A/C and refrigeration.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Prior work experience with Glycol and C02 systems.

Job Duties

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets by utilizing commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills and using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspecting, operating , or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines by performing work according to practices and procedures outlined in the Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and comfortable working at heights frequently.
