Job summary

Walmart in Martinsville, VA seeks a Senior General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local and regional team. You will perform multi-trade maintenance, repairs, and inspections to keep facilities, equipment, and assets in top condition.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, managing work orders, and documenting activities. You’ll operate with safety training, use tools, and collaborate with store teams to deliver reliable service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and relevant trade certification or experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR review.
• Experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trades.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work at heights regularly.
• Basic computer skills for word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities and assets using multiple craft skills.
• Use work order system to receive and document repairs for stores.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect and diagnose issues in facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
• Complete training to operate equipment safely.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
• Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade, or 7 years' experience in one of these trades.
• 1 year's experience using intermediate-level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Can lift up to 75 lbs.
• Can Move up and down ladders frequently
• Comfortable working at heights frequently
• Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 7 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• 1 year’s experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).;
• Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
