Job summary

Sam’s Club in Bentonville, AR is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead test design, automation, and quality assurance across our US Scan & Go mobile app. You will design comprehensive test plans, develop automated scripts, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement with cross‑functional teams.

You will monitor CI/CD processes, conduct performance and security testing, document defects, and communicate risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 3 years QA/testing experience.
  • Or 5 years of software quality assurance or related testing experience.
  • Experience in manual and automated testing and test design.

What you’ll do…Role summary: As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will lead the design, execution, and automation of comprehensive testing strategies to ensure product quality and compliance with business requirements. This role involves analyzing complex systems, identifying root causes of defects, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to enhance testing frameworks and processes. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, monitor project progress, and support risk assessments to deliver reliable, high‑performance solutions. Your expertise will drive quality management efforts that align with organizational goals and uphold rigorous standards throughout the software development lifecycle.

About the team

The team supports the US Sam’s Club Scan & Go mobile application, enabling members to expedite checkout by skipping lines. They focus on delivering high‑quality software through comprehensive test design, automation, and root cause analysis. The group collaborates to ensure system functionality, performance, and integration meet business requirements. Emphasizing continuous improvement, the team applies industry‑standard testing frameworks and tools to maintain product reliability. Members contribute to test planning, execution, and reporting while supporting automation and troubleshooting efforts. This team plays a vital role in enhancing the member experience by ensuring a seamless and efficient mobile application.

What you’ll do
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and cases for functional and nonfunctional requirements.
  • Utilize test automation frameworks and tools to create and maintain automated test scripts, enhancing efficiency and coverage.
  • Perform root cause analysis on defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to map customer requirements into test objectives and ensure contract compliance.
  • Monitor project progress, provide status reports, and support continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Conduct system performance, security, and regression testing to validate product quality.
  • Prepare detailed documentation of test results, defects, and risk assessments.
What you’ll bring
  • Proven expertise in test design, automation, and execution within industry-standard frameworks and tools.
  • Strong skills in root cause analysis, defect management, and regression testing to ensure product quality.
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining test scripts, scenarios, and data for functional and nonfunctional testing.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments, traceability analysis, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes and program monitoring metrics.
  • Capability to translate business requirements into effective test objectives and automation solutions.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, triaging defects, and performing root cause corrective actions.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).

Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software quality assurance, manual/automated testing, or related area.
