Job summary

Walmart Sam's Club in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on material handling and industrial equipment. You will operate lift trucks and related systems, communicate with team members, and maintain facilities across the site.

The role requires 1 year of mechanical/electrical repair experience or 2 years of vocational training, with responsibilities spanning battery upkeep, equipment inspections, and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications:1 year's experience in repairing/maintaining mechanical OR electrical equipment in an industrial or non-industrial setting OR 2 years' related vocational training

Responsibilities

• Communicate with or to individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing eg customers suppliers associates. Complete work orders, records, logs and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment eg lift trucks, pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, banana room equipment, electronic and electrical equipment etc according to procedures.
• Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery and other powered equipment.
• Clean and maintain grounds, parking lots, fencing and building facilities eg bathrooms, plumbing
• Change industrial batteries for all types of power equipment including the removal and replacement of battery retention plates
• Maintain eg inspect, clean and repair industrial equipment batteries according to procedures eg tips, contacts, cables
• Assist other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment
• Troubleshoot basic problems with equipment where the repair is visible or obvious

The hourly wage range for this position is $31.80 - $35.30* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
