Job description

We are seeking a highly capable Technical Product Manager to own the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for internal shared services and foundational platforms within a large-scale digital farming solutions organization. This is a high-autonomy, high-ownership role embedded within delivery teams, operating across a portfolio of critical shared services — including Identity and Access Services, Communications, Account Management, and Customer Relationship Management — consumed by virtually every product team in the organization. You will act as the strategic owner of these platforms, reducing the coordination burden on senior engineers, driving cross-team alignment, and proactively advancing organization-wide adoption of platform capabilities. This role operates within the Scaled Agile Framework and requires someone who can engage credibly at all levels, from architects defining technical strategy to new teams onboarding to your capabilities.

Responsibilities

Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for internal platform services, including account hierarchy infrastructure, balancing new capability development, technical debt reduction, and adoption across multiple Program Increments

Operate with a platform ownership mindset — take initiative, make decisions, and drive outcomes without waiting for direction in ambiguous environments

Author high-quality Features and User Stories with quantified problem statements, measurable outcomes, clear scope boundaries, testable acceptance criteria (GIVEN/WHEN/THEN), identified dependencies, and mitigations

Lead Feature and Story decomposition, breaking platform capabilities into well-scoped, ready-to-execute work prioritized using frameworks such as ICE (Impact, Confidence, Ease)

Own execution readiness by driving PI Planning preparation, maintaining a healthy team backlog with clear prioritization, resolved dependencies, and well-refined work sequenced prior to sprint execution

Partner with architects and senior engineers on technical design reviews, contributing meaningfully to discussions on authentication protocols (OAuth, OIDC, SAML), authorization models (RBAC, ABAC), and security patterns

Ensure technical decisions are well-documented and aligned with enterprise architecture, security requirements, and compliance standards

Serve as the primary point of contact for owned platform capabilities across all Agile Release Trains, communicating platform capabilities, changes, and migration paths to consuming teams

Facilitate the creation and maintenance of product documentation including platform vision, capability guardrails, and onboarding guides

Drive adoption of platform capabilities across the organization, identifying and removing friction points in platform consumption and holding consuming teams accountable to committed timelines

Measure and improve the developer experience for teams integrating with your platforms, tracking adoption metrics, usage patterns, and customer satisfaction

Define and track success metrics for owned platforms, including adoption rate, integration time, incident rates, and developer satisfaction

Contribute to operational visibility through dashboards and data-driven decision-making, and participate in business reviews and roadmap readouts with leadership

Monitor relevant technical trends and emerging technologies to inform product vision and build compelling narratives for platform investments to leadership and stakeholders

Skills

Strong technical fluency in identity and access management concepts including authentication, authorization, SSO, OIDC/OAuth, and RBAC/ABAC, or comparable platform domains

Ability to read and reason about code — reviewing pull requests, understanding system behavior from source, and engaging in technical discussions grounded in implementation detail

Proven ability to write high-quality product artifacts including Features, User Stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences ranging from junior developers to enterprise architects

Comfortable making trade-off decisions and defending them to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to engage in architectural and design discussions without relying on engineers to translate technical context

Self-starter with a track record of taking initiative, delivering on commitments, and bringing structure to ambiguity

Effective cross-organizational collaborator in an empowered-team model where decisions are distributed across organizational boundaries

Experience with Agile backlog management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Rally, or equivalent

Familiarity with cloud-native platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, or infrastructure-as-code practices

Experience with identity providers and access management systems such as Okta, Auth0, AWS IAM, Azure AD, or Keycloak

Familiarity with security compliance frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, and data governance

Experience building platform adoption strategies including go-to-market approaches for internal tools, developer onboarding, and migration playbooks

Proficiency with GenAI tools and AI-assisted workflows such as GitHub Copilot, AI agents, and prompt engineering for accelerating product management work

Experience with Datadog, observability platforms, or data-driven engineering practices

Experience

5+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, or equivalent role in software or platform engineering

Demonstrated experience owning and driving strategy for internal platform products or shared services

Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), including PI Planning, ART ceremonies, and Feature and Story decomposition

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field required

Advanced degree (MBA, MS) or equivalent professional experience preferred

Skills / Behavioral Characteristics:

Thinks and acts like a platform owner — proactively identifies problems, proposes solutions, and drives execution

Comfortable making trade-off decisions and defending them to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Can participate meaningfully in architecture and design discussions without relying on engineers to translate

Articulates platform value and technical concepts clearly to audiences ranging from junior developers to enterprise architects

Delivers on commitments — PI plans, roadmap milestones, stakeholder promises; brings structure to ambiguity

Works effectively across organizational boundaries in a organizational model where empowered teams drive decisions
