Position Overview: We are seeking a Molecular Biologist to join our dynamic team in support of product development in plant biotechnology. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of molecular biology (specifically DNA manipulations) and automation experience.

Key Responsibilities

• DNA Molecular Biology:
  • Basic molecular skills: DNA preps, digests, ligations, electroporation, DNA transformations, PCR
  • Follow DNA cloning instructions with oversight from lab personnel
  • Potential to design and troubleshoot alternative cloning approaches
  • High-throughput DNA cloning reactions
  • Works methodically and with attention to detail
• Automation and Instrumentation:
  • Ability to learn automation programs routine to streamline workflows
  • Troubleshoot automation errors with guidance
• Laboratory Operations:
  • Manage inventory and ordering of laboratory consumables as well as maintain organization of workspaces
  • Ensure compliance with safety and waste disposal protocols and represent the team in company-wide initiatives
  • Laboratory support in compliance with ISO 9001 and Safety standards

Qualifications

• BS with 1-3 years' experience in molecular biology.
• Broad understanding of instrumentation and scientific principles related to molecular biology.
• Ability to learn quickly and be coached in new techniques and processes.
• Ability to assist in experimental design and participate in moderate to extensive problem-solving that requires original thought.
• Works independently with minimal supervision, while still seeking guidance when necessary.
